Most iguana problems can wait for a scheduled walk. A few genuinely can't. Here's how to tell the difference and what to do until we arrive.
Most of what we do is planned — a property walk, a clear-out, a monitored program. But some calls come in with an edge to them: there's a large iguana loose in the pool cage right now, one's fallen into the screened lanai and is thrashing, or a cold-stunned animal is reviving in the garage. Those are the same-day calls, and we run them seven days a week when the schedule allows.
Here's how to know whether you've got an emergency, and how to keep everyone safe until someone gets there.
What counts as an emergency
Not everything that feels urgent is, but these genuinely are.
- A large iguana trapped inside a pool cage, lanai, garage, or the house.
- An animal cornered or thrashing where children or pets are present.
- A cold-stunned iguana reviving somewhere it'll cause harm or panic.
- An injured or aggressive animal you can't safely leave alone.
What to do until we arrive
The goal is nobody gets hurt — not you, and ideally not the animal. A big adult carries real muscle in its tail and jaw, and a scared one that size can draw blood.
- Keep kids and pets well back — a cornered iguana bites and tail-whips hard.
- Don't try to grab a large animal bare-handed, especially a cold-stunned one that may revive suddenly.
- If it's contained, leave it contained — close the door on the room or cage rather than chasing it.
- If it's outdoors and not trapped, often the safest move is to give it space and let it move off while you call.
What to expect when you call

Tell us what's happening and we'll be straight about the visit cost — single visits start from $125, and we'll scope anything beyond a simple removal before we do it. We won't manufacture an 'emergency' fee for a problem that's actually a routine property walk; if it can wait, we'll tell you and book it properly.
There's an iguana in my pool cage — what do I do right now?
Keep kids and pets out of the enclosure, don't try to grab a large animal bare-handed, and if you can, close it into the cage rather than chasing it around. Then call for same-day help.
